How To Grill Shrimps

If you love grilled food, I’m sure you’re a big fan of shrimps grilled to perfection. Shrimp cooked in any way, fried, steamed or grilled, is every seafood lover’s delight. I definitely agree.

It may all depend on how you like your shrimp cooked, but once you know the real trick, you’d say shrimps are easy to cook. Even the simplest drop of olive oil, a dash of salt or pepper can serve you a plate of the most delicious shrimps. In grilling shrimps, perhaps you are apprehensive thinking you might burn them and destroy the whole entree.  Here are easy to follow tips on how to grill shrimp perfectly.

You can use a charcoal grill or gas grill to cook your shrimp, but make sure to preheat the grill before putting the shrimps. For a charcoal grill, ensure that the coals are red hot, and for the gas grill, see to it that it is preheated at 300 °C. Grill the shrimp for about 5 minutes over medium heat. Cover the grill if you’re using gas. Avoid overcooking the shrimp, as it may turn the flesh hard and rubbery.

One hint to know if the shrimp is cooked, it will turn golden brown. To check whether the shrimp is ready, poke it with a toothpick. If the toothpick pierces the flesh without any effort, then your shrimp is done. Otherwise, let it cook for a couple more minutes. Learning how to cook shrimps will give you a great-tasting grilled shrimp night.
